Rob Little - My favorite Comedian

Recently, my 9-5 job sent me to Chicago for a convention. While there I was lucky enough to get some free time in the evening to check out a local comedy club Zanies and met an awesome comedian, Rob Little. He was hilarious!! Lucky for me we are now friends! He was in need of some wallpaper graphics for desktops, iphones, BlackBerry, etc. So I offered to help. Not having any clue what he was looking for, here's what I came up with.

He's planning a Michigan appearance at Mark Ridley's in March. You should check out his show. You won't be sorry.

Blog it forward...

As an avid follower of the hostessblog.com, I wanted to support a great (and easy) opportunity to make a difference.

Let’s Eat Cake, an amazing fundraiser hosted by the equally amazing Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is coming up quick: Tuesday, February 17th at the Plaza Paramount Hotel! Let’s Eat Cake is a cake decorating competition with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children’s Research HospitalLearn more about the fundraiser right here.

In an effort to make sure we get the word out to everyone (and raise money), we are starting this chain-blog (Ok, not sure if that is correct terminology. But it’s like a chain letter so let’s just go with it, shall we?)

Here’s what we need you to do…Repost this post (or create your own new version) on your blog and ask others to post it on their blogs. Melissa will donate one dollar to the fundraiser for EVERY BLOG that posts on Let’s Eat Cake this week! With the power of the blogosphere, that can QUICKLY add up! Let’s make Melissa Pay! Once you have reposted it, leave a comment letting us know that you posted it along with the url to the blog. It’s for a great cause and it will be fun to see how far it will go! So lets do it… Lets blog it forward and raise money for a great cause!!!

**Kudos to Unique Designs for creating this fun chain-blog effort!**

P.S. Ok, Melissa… time to kick in another $1!

P.S.S. If any business wants to help out with a matching challenge, Melissa would love to hear from you!

Lamb theme Baby Shower

Jennifer and I have had a long business relationship. I did work for her wedding in 2006 and I work with her on certain projects for Mancuso's Florist, the flower shop she runs with her husband.  Needless to say I was so excited to hear that she was expecting a baby girl! She is my 4th 2006 bride who contacted me for baby shower invites in 08. (Something is in the water ;) ) Jennifer wanted to compliment her hall with golds and pinks and feature a lamb theme. Instead of going for "baby look" shower invite, she wanted an elegant look, but on a budget. So we went with 2 metallic papers and highlighted them with fun, sophisticated graphics. The sweet and simple Thank You card just ties the whole theme together.

Recycle your Holiday cards...

This year, like every year, my husband and I are blessed to receive several Christmas cards in the mail. Loving thoughts from all of our family and friends fill our mailbox each year. It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas -  I love to get mail!  Being that I love all things paper and am an avid card saver, I hate to throw the cards away. They are so pretty! I always recycle them, but this year I looked into another way I could recycle them. I came across a fantastic charity that I had to share! I'm sending mine out tomorrow!

Send holiday cards to St. Jude's Ranch, a nonprofit home for youths that collects old holiday cards for reuse. Either cut off the backs of the cards or leave them intact. Children at St. Jude's earn money by creating new holiday cards from the old.  The children participate in making the new recycled cards by removing the front and attaching a new back made with recycled paper. The new card is a beautiful, “green” card made by the children and volunteers. The benefits are two-fold: customers receive "green" holiday cards for use and the children receive payment for their work and learn the benefits and importance of "going green".
